Get moving.
Will Rich started 717 Fitness with the goal of getting more people moving and doing more of the things that keep them fulfilled. Rooted with a deep resume in ocean sports, he trains to be able to say yes to any challenge presented whether it be in the ocean or on land. The goal is to always be ready so when the call comes, it can be answered. He has been a coach, instructor, sailed oceans, hiked mountains, paddled the entire East Coast (literally), crossed Hawaiian channels and competed both with and against the top paddlers in the world. His programs have allowed for all of this and now allow him to keep up with his twin toddlers. Life is always throwing different opportunities and challenges and the goal of any training program should be to always be ready.
Will has been a personal trainer since 2018 working with clients aged 10 to 92 including full time moms, grandfathers, Olympians, pro athletes, actors, top performing CEOs, college athletes, surfers, and a list of others in between. Everyone has a unique situation and very rarely do they fit in a cookie cutter program. But all of those people had one big goal: keep doing all the fun things for as long as they can.
There are no short cuts and extremes do not lead to long term success. The focus is on building a capable, resilient body that supports a full life whether that’s training hard, getting outdoors, or slowing down when needed; that is the goal. Strength, conditioning, and recovery are treated as equally important, creating a balanced system that’s sustainable and adaptable.
This is fitness that meets people where they are and then moves them forward. It’s about progress through consistency, developing both physical and mental capacity, and creating space for clarity in a world that’s constantly pushing you for more. The goal isn’t just performance—it’s freedom, confidence, and the ability to move well for the long haul.
